Uri is Ran's paternal grandmother's father. Uri was born in Austria. During World War II, he was put on a train from the ghetto to an extermination camp. He managed to jump off the train and hide in the woods until the end of the war. After the war he immigrated to Eretz Israel by ship, and lived in Kibbutz Gilad, where he worked in the fields. In Ran's work we see four railway tracks, which are four roads and four stations in Uri's life. The house painted gray on one side shows the ghetto from which Uri was sent. The black-painted figure next to the train car in the forest marks Uri's difficult period. At the following station is the ship, which represents the difficult sea journey. Uri's figure appears again, painted blue and white, at the last station - this time in Eretz Israel, in the kibbutz fields. The house on this side is painted in calm, peaceful colors.
