Educators

The program “My Family Story” regards all students as a part of the greater ongoing story of the Jewish people. It aims to cultivate and deepen students’ sense of belonging to the Jewish people through a close study of family roots and the unique stories inherited by all the children of the Jewish people. The research process, which includes collecting information about the family history and creation of a family tree, is also transformed into a digital art project interpreting the family story – and consequently, also the shared story of the Jewish people.

The educators play a significant role in the process, guiding the students in all stages of the project, the research-based and creative ones, and also providing students with a first assessment of their work. After the initial round of the review process, the best works from each educational institution will be submitted to the international competition, during which they will be assessed by a committee comprising professionals in the field of art, education, and the Jewish peoplehood. The winning works will become part of the museum’s permanent display and will be shown in a digital exhibition in the lobby. The winning students will come to Israel for a unique trip including a meeting with peers from all around the world at the largest Jewish museum in the world.
