Water, Living and Dead

Timur Sabirov's project for My Family Story 2022. ANU- Museum of the Jewish People

Timur Sabirov

The exhibit is dedicated to Timur's great-grandfather Michael and grandfather Yuri Aresh, who were well-known scientists. One of their studies dealt with the subject of living and dead water. Timur decided to create his own work inspired by their study. A dead water molecule symbolizes peoples among whom Jews lived. There has been mutual contribution, support, and, unfortunately, persecution. A living water molecule was placed as an image of a Jew who survives and continues to evolve. Molecules were printed in a 3D printer, symbolizing the spirit of progress typical of Timur's family.
