Liron Yitzhaki elected to tell the story of her grandfather, Gagon Bokobza z”l, from Gabes in Tunis. He immersed himself in the study of Torah, and when he immigrated to Israel he dedicated his life to the Yosef Ma’aravi synagogue in Ramle. Rabbi Ma’aravi was renowned in Tunis as a performer of miracles. His grave in Tunis is marked by a large pile of stones, in memory of the destruction of the Temple. When congregants from the community in Tunis immigrated to Israel, they brought some stones from the rabbi’s grave with them. These were integrated into the synagogue built in Ramle.
