Grandfather Félix and Grandmother Georgette grew up in Tunisia. During World War II, the Germans also came to Tunisia. They tried to commit crimes against the Jews there as they did in Europe. During that time, Grandfather Félix was forced to work for the Germans. He was a plumber, and he also learned to speak German, so he could communicate with them. When the war ended, Grandfather and Grandmother moved to France and from there emigrated to Israel. In Israel, they lived in a village and raised their family there.
In my creation, I refer to Grandfather Félix's hard work under the Germans. It is composed of pipes and a sink that symbolize his work. One can see the harshness representing the forced labor that the Jews were compelled to perform for the Germans during the war.
