The inspiration for this work comes from Yahali's great-grandmother, who lost her son Avraham, the brother of Yahli's grandmother. During the Yom Kippur War, Avraham fought as an NCO in the Combat Engineering Corps on the southern front. During combat a mortar shell hit the armored vehicle Avraham was in and he was killed. Abraham was MIA for five months and then buried in a mass grave on Mount Herzl. Yahli chose this theme to show how cohesive the family is, choosing to instill the memory in the third generation as well. They do this by going to the grave with their great-grandmother and passing the story on in the IDF's study courses.
This year the visit to the grave was all the more powerful due to the passing of Yahli's great-grandmother.
The work consists of three illustrations. The first shows a soldier standing in the tank turret, accompanied by soldiers marching into battle. It is in shades of green, while the second illustration is in pink and the third is in black and white. They represent flashes of memory from the battle. In addition, one of the illustrations shows a sunrise and another shows a sunset, symbolizing loss accompanied by growth, just like Memorial Day which is set immediately before Independence Day.
