This project tells the story of Pépé Salomon and the miracle leading to his birth. My great great-grandmother gave birth to ten children who died at birth or a little after. The day before Pépé’s birth, his mother dreamt of the great tzadik Shlomo ben Hench, saying that she’s having a son called Slomo who will live. In fact, she had a boy and brought him to the tomb of the tzaddik. When she returned, she found 2 snakes around the baby. She fed them until they disappeared right after the naming. They were sent to protect him and make sure he lives. From this great gentleman was born a lineage of 7 children, 32 grandchildren, 125 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren BH. This proves to us the power of dreams, prayers and tzadikim. I reproduced the scene surrounding Pépé’s birth, as well as his house in Casablanca.
