This is my tree of life. But it's not just any tree, because it is full of symbols that represent my past, my present and my future. I decided to make it with the colors of Israel because it's the land that represents us all; Jews of the world and history. The roots of the tree are words that represent the basis of my story: Ahava (love), mishpacha (family), shorashim (roots), dorot (generations), chayim (life) and Israel. The leaves of the tree are circular spirals because they made me think about the continuity of the generations that have passed and those to come. Around the tree I placed white pearls that, seen from afar, look empty. But if you look closely, you will see very small letters which are the initials of my family members that I traced and investigated. There are also blue pearls representing my other ancestors: some of them I met, and others whose name and history I couldn't find. The choice of pearls is because every one of them is very valuable to me, for my family, and for the people of Israel. Finally, as every tree has to have a legacy to continue growing, I leave this as a legacy for my future children, and those who will be born later, so that they will be able to continue adding more pearls.
